Best ATS pick: Bears -1.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Here's what our NFL expert Mike Spector wrote this week on why he's betting the Bears to cover the spread (and win outright) against its division rival:
"As excited as I am to see what new Bears head coach Ben Johnson can do with Caleb Williams and the plethora of talent he has at the skill positions, I usually preach patience and not to overreact, as his offensive principles will take time to sink in.
But with Minnesota breaking in a quarterback who missed the entire regular season with an injury last year, that tips the scales to Chicago’s moneyline as my best Vikings vs. Bears prediction.
Williams’ increased success in year two starts with an improved offensive line. He was sacked 68 times last season, tied for the third-most in NFL history. To address that, the team traded for guards Joe Thuney (17 starts last year) and Jonah Jackson (four starts), and added center Drew Dalman (nine starts).
Johnson’s influence should also make a world of difference in Williams’ progression. In his time as Lions offensive coordinator, Detroit had a top-five offense in all three seasons."
Spector dives more into why he's backing the Bears, along with his favorite player prop bet, in his Vikings vs. Bears prediction.
Best player prop pick: Caleb Williams Over 218.5 passing yards ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Here's why our NFL expert Phil Wood is backing Caleb Williams to finish with at least 219 passing yards after clearing that mark in one of two games last year against the Vikings:
"Caleb Williams threw for fewer than 200 yards in four of his final five games last season. One of those performances came against the Vikings. And yet, Williams threw for 340 yards against the same defense in Week 12.
Though Williams’ rookie year was far from great, he threw for more than 218.5 passing yards seven times. Now, he gets to start his second season against a defense that allowed over 240 passing yards per game in 2024-25. Even if there isn’t a lot of growth from Williams in his second season, this is a great matchup, and the best sports betting sites are undervaluing him."
Wood is also backing one of Williams' top receivers and a touchdown scorer for Minnesota in his best Vikings vs. Bears player prop bets.
Best touchdown scorer prediction: Aaron Jones Sr. to score anytime TD ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Here's why our NFL expert Esten McLaren is betting on Vikings running back Aaron Jones Sr. to score a touchdown against the Bears for the third straight time in a Minnesota uniform:
"The Vikings are a 1.5-point road betting favorite by the Monday Night Football odds, so that has me targeting running back Aaron Jones Sr., with +175 odds to find the end zone as a five-star anytime touchdown scorer prediction.
Jones scored seven total touchdowns last season, his first with the Vikings, with five coming on the ground. I'm expecting him to see a hefty usage rate tonight in J.J. McCarthy's first regular-season start for the Vikes."
McLaren is also backing two wide receivers at plus-money odds to find pay dirt tonight in his best Vikings vs. Bears touchdown scorer predictions.
Best first touchdown scorer prediction: Jordan Mason to score first TD ⭐⭐⭐
Here's why our NFL expert Sean Tomlinson is betting on Vikings running back Jordan Mason to score the first touchdown on Monday Night Football:
"The Vikings list Aaron Jones as their starter, and the veteran could indeed be primed for another productive season after posting a career-high 1,138 rushing yards during his first season with the team last year. But Minneosta didn't trade for Jordan Mason to simply hold him as depth after the bruiser erupted for three 100-plus-yard rushing games with the San Francisco 49ers last year while filling in for the injured Christian McCaffrey.
Reports throughout the offseason indicate the team could roll forward at least short term with a true backfield committee, and Mason seems more ideally suited to get more goal-line carries as the bulkier back (5-foot-11 and 223 pounds). Mason scored three touchdowns on just 153 carries last year, with all of those trips to the end zone coming inside the 10-yard line."
Tomlinson is also betting on two Bears to score at long-shot odds in his first touchdown scorer predictions.
