I have a ton of faith in Justin Herbert, at least in the regular season. Hitting four receivers for at least 50 yards, he picked apart a Kansas City Chiefs pass defense that was one of the better units last season.
If the Las Vegas Raiders defend the pass well, which they did against an inferior New England pass attack, the Chargers can counter with an equally effective run game.
That run game includes Herbert, who can do some damage on designed plays and from scrambles. The Chargers covered the spread in both meetings with the Raiders last season and were 7-2 ATS on the road, including 6-1 as the betting favorite.

🦁 Lions (-4.5) vs. Bears ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Lions will be in a sour mood against their division rivals for the first game of the season at Ford Field. Following an outright loss, Detroit is 10-0 ATS in the last 10. The Chicago Bears imploded on Monday Night Football, scoring just 10 offensive points after hitting pay dirt on the opening drive.
It put the Bears' teething issues front and center. More than that, it put Caleb Williams' accuracy, or lack thereof, on full display. Like last season, the Bears quarterback struggled to cope with consistent pressure, which Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores deployed more often in the second half.
In addition, the Lions' defense should know firsthand how to combat a Ben Johnson-led offense.
While Johnson's knowledge of Detroit's defense could help the visitors, I don't think the Bears offense can take advantage, based on their woeful second half against the Vikings, when it failed to convert on seven straight third downs.
In addition, the Bears' defense, dominated by a de facto rookie quarterback whom they had on the ropes in the first half, looked tired. The short week won't help their cause.

Laying the points on Buffalo feels right after its eye-popping comeback win over the Baltimore Ravens. The team's young defense adjusted well in the second half after being roasted early. The collective should grow in confidence after getting a couple of crucial late stops, which included forcing NFL MVP odds long shot Derrick Henry into a game-altering fumble.
If Aaron Rodgers can have his way with the New York Jets defense, Josh Allen should have no problem accumulating points.
I had the distinct feeling, especially in the second half, that the Bills would score on every offensive possession, so it's a lot to ask of the Jets defense to keep that explosive and versatile attack at bay.
While it will take some time for the Bills' new-look defense to find consistent rhythm, I expect they can make at least one more stop than their opponent. Caesars, BetMGM, and bet365 have the Bills at -6.5, while DraftKings and FanDuel offer -7.
