The Los Angeles Sparks (19-22) are clinging to their playoff dreams when they host the Dallas Wings (9-33), but my Wings vs. Sparks prediction suggests the team's hopes might be dashed at 6 p.m. ET on Sunday in Crypto.com Arena on NBA TV.

Los Angeles, which is two games back of the No. 8 spot, is the 9.5-point favorite against Dallas. I’m taking the points with the Wings as part of Sunday’s WNBA picks, along with a five-star play on the Over for Paige Bueckers’ scoring prop.

I can’t trust the Sparks to cover this significant of a spread, especially given the way they’ve been playing lately. Los Angeles has failed to cover the number in nine of its past 10 games, including five times as a favorite.

The Sparks are 1-2 against the spread as a double-digit favorite this season, which is why this line has dropped to 9.5 at most of the best sports betting sites. I don’t envision FanDuel’s line lasting long, even with a -112 vig that provides an $8.93 payout on a $10 bet.

Dallas has lost nine straight games entering this matchup, but it’s been competitive against non-elite teams. That includes two covers of +6 and +8 against the Sparks during that stretch, suffering just a one-point loss in each meeting.

I doubt the Wings will pull off the upset, but I like their chances of staying within single digits on Sunday.
