The Atlanta Dream are in hot pursuit of the second seed heading into the playoffs, and I think they’re primed for a big showing as part of my Sun vs. Dream prediction. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Monday at Gateway Center Arena (Local TV), featuring an Atlanta team that is currently third in the WNBA championship odds.

For my WNBA picks, I think the Dream can keep the good vibes rolling at home against a Sun team that is among the league’s worst road clubs this season.

Dream forward Brionna Jones has elevated her game of late. I think Jones is poised for a big day against a Sun team that’s struggled to defend the interior all season, and I’m backing one of her player props that offers a bigger potential profit.

✅ Dream -11 (-110) ⭐⭐⭐

Sun vs. Dream Prediction, Odds & Expert Picks: WNBA Best Bets for Sept. 8

The Dream have been dominant at home, with their last five wins at Gateway Center Arena coming by an average margin of 17.4 points. Atlanta secured an easy win in the last meeting with Connecticut, defeating the Sun 93-76 on the road on Sept. 1. They also crushed the Sun 79-55 in the only matchup in Atlanta back in May.

The Dream are in a tight battle with Las Vegas and Phoenix for the second seed in the playoffs with just days remaining in the WNBA regular season.

Connecticut has allowed the second-most points in the paint per game this season (38.2). The Sun also allow opponents to shoot a league-best 46.4% from the field. This is an excellent matchup for Atlanta’s balanced attack, which is second in the WNBA in offensive rating in 2025.

A $10 bet on the Dream to cover the spread would provide a $9.09 profit. The -110 odds from one of the best sports betting sites, DraftKings, have an implied probability of 52.38%.

💰 Best Sun vs. Dream player prop bet

🔥 Brionna Jones to record a double-double (+360) ⭐⭐

Sun vs. Dream Prediction, Odds & Expert Picks: WNBA Best Bets for Sept. 8

Jones is averaging 15.6 points and 8.6 rebounds per game over her last five. She’s also tied for sixth in the WNBA with 12 double-doubles this season.

The Dream are first in the WNBA in rebounding (36.6 per game), while the Sun sit 12th of 13 clubs (31.8 per game). That bodes well for a strong interior player like Jones.

Jones has been more dominant at home in 2025, averaging 15.2 points and 8.4 rebounds per game on 58.5% shooting, compared to 10.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game on 46.2% shooting when playing on the road.

A $10 wager on Jones to record a double-double at FanDuel nets out a $36 profit. The +360 odds have an implied probability of 21.74%.

How do WNBA odds work?

When betting on the WNBA, the point spread shows how many points the favorite needs to win by in order to cash the bet. For example, a favorite of -5.5 must win by 6 or more points to cover the spread, while an underdog at +5.5 must win outright or lose by 5 or fewer points to cover the spread.

Moneyline odds represent the payout for picking the outright winner (+200 means a $100 bet wins $200, while -200 means a $200 bet wins $100). Over/Unders let you wager on whether the combined total will be higher or lower than the set number.
