Scheffler is the +210 betting favorite at DraftKings to win the 2025 Procore Championship. That's a prohibitive price in any 144-man field, especially in a tournament and at a venue that has lent itself to long shots winning in recent years. A winning $10 bet would return a modest profit of $21.
Only two of the past seven tournament winners at Silverado Resort had betting odds shorter than +5000, and three had odds longer than 100-1.
While a very strong argument could be made that they only won because Scheffler wasn't participating, I'm also going to hold his lack of experience at this course against him. Scheffler's playing this week alongside the majority of his U.S. Ryder Cup teammates as they prepare for Bethpage Black in two weeks.
I view this as more of a team bonding trip for that contingent, and I'll be fading Scheffler with my Procore Championship picks given his short odds.

Cameron Young has played competitively at Silverado Resort just once, missing the cut in his 2022 debut. However, he's the one member of the U.S. Ryder Cup team I'm targeting this week, given his excellent form through the end of the PGA Tour season.
Young enters the week 20th in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) after a run that saw him finish no worse than 11th in four events from the Wyndham Championship (win) through the Tour Championship (fourth). He was in fantastic statistical form through that stretch, as well. He averaged 0.85 strokes gained: approach and 1.08 SG: of-the-tee per round over his last 16 rounds, and he ranks as one of the longest hitters and best putters in this field.
